On 13 April 2024, the Baku City Absheron District Court issued a ruling: to apply a preventive measure against Rustam Asgarov in the form of arrest for a period of 4 months.
The period of detention in custody during the investigation has been subsequently extended several times Sentence: On 25 November 2024, the Sumqayit Court for Serious Crimes issued a verdict: to find Rustam Asgarov guilty and sentenced him to 5 years and 6 months' imprisonment with serving the sentence in a general regime penal institution.

Later we learnt that he had been arrested by the police, who took him to their station in Khirdalan settlement, and there a young believer had been brutally beaten.
Two days later, he was taken to the Absheron District Court. 186
