On 16 March 2024, the Baku City Sabunchu District Court issued a ruling: to apply a preventive measure against Tarlan Sayadov in the form of arrest for a period of 4 months.

The period of detention in custody during the investigation has been subsequently extended several times Sentence: On 23 July 2025, the Baku City Court for Serious Crimes issued a verdict: since the prosecution failed to provide any convincing evidence in the course of the trial, the Judge substituted the previous Article of the Prosecution with a new one, 234.1-1 (Illegal acquisition or storage of drugs or psychotropic substances without the purpose of sale in an amount exceeding the amount necessary for personal consumption, committed in a large amount) of the Criminal Code of the Azerbaijan Republic.

And afterwards Tarlan Sayadov was sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment Judge: Roman Alakbarov Place of detention: Pre-trial Detention Center at the Umbaki settlement in Baku City Qaradaq District Conclusion: On 15 March 2024, Tarlan Sayadov left home and rode his bicycle to work, then communication with him was lost and for a long time his family had no information about him, until his wife, Nubar Sayadov, called to the Baku Sabunchu District 14 Police Department.

As it turned out, the 14th Police Department had already initiated a criminal case against Tarlan.

Thereafter, Nubar Sayadova went to the police in order to find out what had happened, but there she was subjected to the abuse from the part of the police.

On 20 March 2024, Tarlan Sayadov called his wife from the pre-trial detention centre and said that he had been brutally beaten at the police station and, he, unable to withstand the torture, had been forced to falsely confess his possession of drugs.

On 23 July 2025, Tarlan Sayadov stated In his final speech during the trial, "I have only one sin, and that is my faith and beliefs.

Today, I am judged for my beliefs.” 181
