Gunel Movlud’s Husband Arrested in Azerbaijan

Haji Hacili, the husband of Norway-based Azerbaijani writer Gunel Movlud, has reportedly been arrested in Azerbaijan.
According to available information, Hacili recently travelled to Azerbaijan. He was detained shortly after arriving in the country and charged under Article 206 of the Criminal Code, which concerns smuggling.
A court has ordered that Hacili be held in pre-trial detention for three months.
He is reportedly being held at Baku Pre-Trial Detention Center No. 1 in Kurdakhani.
No further details about the charges have been made public so far.
