Ukraine reportedly strikes bridges in Kherson region, Russian-installed authorities say
Ukrainian forces have reportedly attacked key bridges in the occupied parts of Ukraine’s Kherson region, according to statements from Russian-installed regional authorities.
Vladimir Saldo, the Russian-appointed governor of the occupied Kherson region, said that bridges in the direction of Chongar and the Arabat Spit were targeted overnight on Monday, June 15.
According to Saldo, the Chongar bridge was damaged again, leading to the temporary closure of traffic through the “Dzhankoy” checkpoint. He later stated that limited, reversible traffic had resumed via a pontoon crossing, allowing passage for passenger vehicles.
Saldo also claimed that strikes were carried out on a bridge connecting the city of Henichesk with the Arabat Spit.
He added that similar infrastructure in the region has been repeatedly targeted in recent days, including multiple attacks on the Chongar bridge and nearby transport routes.
Disruptions reported in Zaporizhzhia region
Meanwhile, Evgeny Balitsky, the Russian-installed head of the occupied part of Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region, said that traffic on one of the key bridges linking northern Crimea with mainland territories had been suspended due to Ukrainian attacks.
He noted that alternative routes have been organized for movement via Melitopol, Novooleksiivka, Novotroitske, Chaplynka, Myrne, and Armyansk.
