According to Karimli's lawyer, after his readmission, his clients were placed in a pandemic athletes' village of Baku and questioned by some people in civilian clothes about their activities in Germany. The lawyer, Neimat Karimli, (defends the rights of 3 of 4 detainees after deportation from Germany - Mutallim Orujev, Malik Rzayev and Jafar Mirzoyev) said, "The mentioned individuals, upon their return to Baku, were subjected to interrogations and they were asked about their activities in Germany. My clients testified under the pressure. The complaints concerning the use of torture against them remained inconclusive".
