Aykhan Israfilov – activist of the Trade Unions Confederation “Workers’ Table” Arrested: 11 August 2023 Charge: Article 234.4.3 (Illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances committed in large amount) of the Criminal Code of the Azerbaijan Republic On 14 August 2023, the Baku City Binagadi District Court issued an order: to satisfy the investigator’s petition on arrest and issue a preventive measure against Aykhan Israfilov in the form of arrest for a period of 4 months. The period of detention in custody during the investigation has been subsequently extended several times Place of detention: Pre-trial Detention Center № 3 at the Shuvelyan settlement in Baku City Khazar District Conclusion: Aykhan Israfilov was detained on 11 August 2023 by employees of the Narimanov district police department of Baku. According to the head of the movement “Democracy 1918” Ahmad Mammadli, Israfilov's detention is of a political nature with connection with participation of the couriers' action on 1 August 2023.
