On 27 March 2023, Ilham Shikhaliyev was sentenced to 4 months in a pre-trial detention center. The period of detention in custody during the investigation has been subsequently extended several times Sentence: On 11 July 2025, the Baku Court for Serious Crimes issued a verdict: to find Ilham Shikhaliyev guilty on all charges and sentenced him to 17 years of imprisonment with serving the sentence in a strict regime penal institution.
