However, the following day, 19 March 2024, the police said that he had been detained for drug trafficking. The lawyer, Zabil Qahramanov, said that on 19 March 2024, S. Mammadzade was taken into custody for a period of 4 months following a ruling of the Goygel District Court. The PFPA members believe that Mammadzade's detention is due to his political activities.
