Sahib Mammadzade – member of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan Date of arrest: 18 March 2024 Charge: Article 234.4.3 (Illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances committed in large amount) of the Criminal Code of the Azerbaijan Republic.

According to the Head of the PFPA press service, Natiq Adilov, "Sahib Mammadzade was transporting his cattle in a lorry from a lowland pasture to a summer one in the direction of the mountainside village of Khoshbulag.

His vehicle was stopped at the police checkpoint near Bayan village, Dashkesan district, and the black- masked men got Sahib Mammadzade out and dragged him into another car, beating him, and then drove away in an unknown direction.

His sister, who was sitting in the cabin of the truck, tried to film the incident on video, but her phone was confiscated.

Sahib's relatives called the Interior Ministry's hotline.

However, they have not been able to get any information about Sahib, and the police claimed that he had not detained Sahib, although his arrest took place at a police checkpoint.

However, the following day, 19 March 2024, the police said that he had been detained for drug trafficking.
